Padres' Torres accepts 100-game suspension for violating MLB's domestic violence policy

San Diego Padres reliever Jose Torres accepted a 100-game suspension Friday from Major League Baseball for violating the Joint Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Policy.

“We fully support the decision by the Commissioner’s Office to suspend Jose Torres for violating the joint MLB-MLBPA domestic violence policy,” the Padres said in a statement. “We will continue to support the league’s efforts to educate players and prevent instances like this from occurring in the future.”
