Votto's streak ends at 20 games, falls short of tying MLB record

In an unforeseen turn of events, Joey Votto reached base only once on Wednesday and in the process, snapped a brilliant stretch.

The immensely talented Cincinnati Reds first baseman’s streak of reaching base at least twice ended at 20 games, one shy of tying baseball legend Ted Williams who holds the record at 21 straight set in 1948.
